I own exactly one piece of clothing by Alexander McQueen: a heavy black wool scarf with a knitted skull pattern from his Fall 2007 collection, which was given to me by a dear friend who worked with him and which I’ve only worn once, because it’s seven feet long and heavy and, well, wool, and I don’t have many occasions to wear seven foot long wool scarves. But it’s something to have, especially now.
